What is a Launch Team?
A launch team is a group of people who are passionate about helping to spread the word about a new book. There is no special training or qualifications needed to join the team. You simply need to believe in the author, the book, and be excited about it coming out. A launch team is crucial for a successful book launch. The author needs readers to reach out to other reader in promoting their book. The author cannot do it alone.
Under Penalty of Death is not just an incredible story, its purpose is to open eyes to the love and grace in Jesus Christ. It’s a story of failure and struggle and how Jesus makes us whole.
It’s my story.
It’s your story.
Sometimes, truth, embedded in fiction, can be more powerful than a sermon.
But people can’t hear unless they are told.
Romans 10:14-15 (NLT)
And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent?
I want people on my launch team who are passionate about getting the word out.
I want people that believe in me and my story and in the fact that Jesus can change lives. That His grace will cover our sins and create something new in our lives.
I need this kind of person on my team.
I am looking for a small group of people who are passionate about spreading the word about Under Penalty of Death. Because of this, not all who apply to be on my launch team will be chosen.
Why join the team?
Under Penalty of Death is historical fiction set in Biblical times. There’s no reason other than your belief in me and my writing and a desire to supporting me.
Launch teams that have been most affective are a small group of passionate people who truly believe in the book and the author. They work closely together and come up with unique ideas to get the book into the eyes of the reading audience.
I’m not looking for people who join for the goodie. Therefore, I won’t be paying, or giving out free books.
They have shown that launch teams that pay are ineffective and fail. I need workers, not lurkers.
I do honor, and hold in high esteem, those who work with me to get an enormous job done.
Those on my launch team
* Will have their name added to the acknowledgment section of my book.
* Will receive insider information
* I will share sales and ranking results
* Will have the first opportunity to brainstorm with me on the sequel and be Bata Readers
What is Expected
My book, Under Penalty of Death, has a launch date of January 29th 2024
There isn’t much time!
Ads need to be posted on social media now, but the real push will start in mid December.
Launch team members need to be active for three months before our Jan 29th launch, and one month after.
I will expect my launch team members to:
*Preorder the book (reviews that are posted by “verified” buyers rank higher on Amazon)
*Write a review on Amazon, GoodReads, social media and with your circle of friends.
*Help brainstorm for new ways to reach others
*Help set up interviews on blogs and podcasts
*Ask for the book and libraries and bookstores (after January 29th)
*Suggest the book for book clubs
*Be an active advertising supporter
*Be available three months before the launch and one month after, to promote.
*Have fun at special group events that only you will be invited to.
The main launch push will begin a couple weeks before Christmas. This is an ideal time, as many of us are with friends and family and can casually speak about the book. I will send you my business cards to pass out to friends, family, and church acquaintances. Also, hand these out in the store lines, leave them on tables or anywhere you think will be affective.
I will be creating teams to best use your talents and interests.
Those who like to create ads and have the tools will be passing out these ads to be posted on your social media.
Everyone can make a loud noise and post on social media to your friends.
Being on a launch team is work. If this isn’t for you, that’s fine, but signing up and not being active will not help me, it hurts me. So please consider this before agreeing.
Why I’m Not Giving Free Copies of my Book
I realize this may sound self-serving and like I’m being a money hound, but there are solid reasons I have made this choice. The main one is that I need commitment.
The Bible tells us that “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:21)
I need people that have a heart for me and this book. I need commitment and directed energy. I need to know that my team is doing this to help me and not just to get a free book.
Another reason is the way Amazon is now logging reviews. Most of the people I gave book to on my last launch were never posted by Amazon. Amazon threw them out because they weren’t “verified reviews”
I need both your reviews and your support.
(Most of you are readers and will spend this much money on books a month, anyway.)
I promise you, you will receive your desired reward for your help.
