Fun Fact

Friday Fun Facts

My dear hubby sent this to me the other day and I thought it was so cute, I had to share.
Neither of us has fact-checked this except to confirm the shortest book, the longest book, and the center verse.
You can count up all the chapters if you like.

  1. I’m not trying to contradict you, but I was going to share this with my children so I searched to see if it was correct. This link says it’s not true, but I found the information quite interesting as well. I did not know the history behind how the Bible was divided into chapters and verses. I thought you might be interested as well.

    1. Hi Ladonna,
Thanks for stopping by. As I said, I didn’t check it out, I just thought it was fun and interesting. I do know that Pa 119 is the longest book in the Bible and that Ps 117 is the shortest with only 2 verses. What is the center verse? That would take a lot of time to figure out and it would depend if you were counting just verses and finding the middle one in the Bible or counting the chapters and then going to the middle verse in the middle chapter. Some versions of the Bible also have additional verses and book. Chapters and verses weren’t added until around the 13th century. This was all just for fun. If your kids do find out the true center verse by counting the verses and in all the books and then find the middle one, please let me know. I would be so interested.
