Research

If you know me at all, you know I’m always looking up things online.

I love to learn.

I have this insatiable thirst for knowledge.

My husband just laughs at me. We will be sitting at night, resting, watching our favorite show, usually on Netflix or Acorn TV, when all of a sudden, I’m pull out my phone or laptop and begin to look up the true facts about whatever person or object the show just happens to mention.

I know many people don’t like the fact that they’re always connected to the internet, but I find it exhilarating. I’m one of those people that just has to know. I can’t take somebody’s answer as fact. I never could.

I guess that’s why I like writing historical fiction so much. Half the fun for me is the . Sometimes I get so absorbed with the new facts and details I’m learning, that I end up doing more research than writing. I guess that’s good when you’re learning about a part of history that is not readily known to you. But I get that way even about things that I do know something about.

Truth be told, I can easily jump from subject to subject and end up looking up something that is completely opposite from where I started.

But that’s fine.

It’s amazing being able to spend time doing something you love.
